For over twenty-five years, I have enjoyed a wide array of professional work experiences; from an individual contributor up the ranks to executive management as well as serving on various Boards. I have learned a lot about business, relationships and what it takes to be successful.
Starting my career in the military, I learned the importance of systems, processes, training and reliance on others.
I know the importance of finding a mentor; someone who can provide radical candor, coaching and guidance and ultimately became a mentor to others later in my career. I realized the importance of learning from others and that wisdom and perspective are invaluable and often times better imparted than learned on your own! Investing in people is paramount to the success of culture and organization.
Spending the majority of my time in Operations, I am versed in all aspects of business process; from the sales cycle through operations to the back office. I have experienced system conversions, new technology adoption, change management (People, Process and Technology), process improvement, and organizational design.
*Developed and managed P&Ls in excess of $500M and run corporate and field operations across the US and Canada.
*Spending a significant portion of my time in distribution, logistics and transportation, I have made lifelong relationships in the energy and transportation industries, that can be competitive yet cooperative.
*Worked for privately held companies as well as ESOPs.
*Reviewed hundreds of "Teasers", "CIMs" and actively made offers on a number of companies, resulting in over a dozen closed acquisitions in the energy and transportation sectors since 2013. I was responsible for all facets of the process and have worked with several dozen traditional Investment Banking or Brokerage companies. I have also divested of businesses as well.
* Advised Seller from partner selection through diligence, contract negotiations, to close.
